This is my second plate. It is small but it has a good shape for a plate. I did a much better job footing this one than my first one. I used the foam bat to foot this time and it made it a lot easier to foot, which made it look a lot better. I glazed it with white and a little bit of lavender. The glaze is very simple and the plate is also simple.
This is my set of three. I threw three nugs out of red clay then I pulled and attached handles, all out of red clay as well. I glazed them with clear and metallic brown. Together the colors are with in the same color scheme so they go with each other. The metallic brown ran causing movement. All of the projects together have unity. This is my pumpkin. It is a wheel alter made from a closed form. I carved out the face of the pumpkin to give it negative shape. This is my wheel alter. I threw it in red clay then I carved a paisley design on the out side. The carving gives the project design and shape. The glaze didn't turn out how I hoped. If it was more contrasting it would have emphasized the design more. This is a plate I threw out of vashon white clay. It is small and simple shape. I glazed it with clear glaze and teal around the rim. The teal glaze emphasizes the shape of the plate. This is a vase I threw from red clay. I glazed it with clear glaze and then added some tomato red on top and it gave it some color. I would like to control the tomato red better because it is very faint and hard to see. It adds color to a simple shape and glaze. This is my second vase. It is thrown out of red clay. It is glazed with blue and shadow green glazed. They ran together mixing colors, and some red shows at the thin parts of the glaze. The glaze adds emphasize to the color of the project. This is my mug. It is thrown out of red clay and the handle is pulled out of red clay as well. I glazed it with clear glaze so you could see the red clay and then dipped the top in black. It ran giving the project movement. This is my vase. It is made out of vashon white clay. It is small and glazed with clear on the outside, black on the inside. Then I added some scratch with my finger to add some color to it which gives the project movement. |
