This is my multi wheel project. I took two cylinders and connected them by slipping and scoring. I glazed it with rutile tan and a mixture of blues.
This is my turtle bowl. It is a choice theme project. It was a hand and wheel project that I threw the bowl then added on the feet, head and tail. I glazed it with shadow green on the outside and a mix of shadow green and rutile tan on the inside. I really like the color of the inside of the turtle. The different colors emphasize the different parts of the project. This is a project I threw with sea mix. Then I was trying different carving techniques with wooden and plastic tools to carve away around the triangles. I also changed the shape at the bottom with the indented sections. Then I experimented with the different underglazes with the different colors on the triangles and the lines in the indents. On other projects this amount of colors would be too much but I wanted to see what the different colors looked like and created patterns. This is my second theme project. It is a bowl I threw out of seamix as well. I glazed it with turquoise matte on the inside and rutile tan on the outside. The two glazes are contrasting colors. The lip I glazed violet which I probably won't do again because it is just two many colors and doesn't keep the project's unity. This is one of my theme projects. It is a bowl thrown out of seamix. I glazed it with rutile tan on the outside and tomato red on the inside. The two colors are contrasting creating emphasize on the outside and inside of the project as two different parts. This is the frankenpot that I made with my team. Mackenzie made the bottom, I made the middle, and Taylor made the top piece. We used calibers to measure each piece to make sure they fit together and were the same size at the places they were connecting. We glazed it with blue on the outside, white and blue on the inside, and scrap at the lid. The scrap shows movement when it ran down and the blue and white on the inside mixed together to also show movement. This is a big bowl I threw out of sea mix. I focused on texture to make the inside and outside the same and smooth. I glazed the outside white which turned out well because it was very even. The inside I glazed tomato red with white on the top so it would run down. The white on top of the red shows movement of the glaze. This is my lidded project. It is a small pot with a lid that sits on top of the lip and inside the pot. I glazed it with turquoise matte on the outside and black on the inside. Next time I would make sure the turquoise was more even because the matte doesn't run and therefore you can see where the glaze was put on unevenly. Glazing the lid and the outside of the project the same color creates unity between the two pieces. This is my second plate. It is small but it has a good shape for a plate. I did a much better job footing this one than my first one. I used the foam bat to foot this time and it made it a lot easier to foot, which made it look a lot better. I glazed it with white and a little bit of lavender. The glaze is very simple and the plate is also simple. This is my set of three. I threw three nugs out of red clay then I pulled and attached handles, all out of red clay as well. I glazed them with clear and metallic brown. Together the colors are with in the same color scheme so they go with each other. The metallic brown ran causing movement. All of the projects together have unity. |
